Dindigul to Tawang 7 Days Tour

DAY WISE ITINERARY

DAY 1 – BOMDILA

  • Departing from Chennai airport.
  • On arrival at airport,pick up and then transfer to Hotel.
  • After drive to Bomdila Approx. 370 km and 7 – 8 hours drive.
  • En route visit Tippi Orchid Centre Tipi Orchid Research Centre houses a large number of species of orchids. One of the main attractions of the center is its orchid glass house, which has a display gallery, a central pond with fountain and about 1000 species of orchids in pots and hanging baskets.
  • Check in at Hotel. Evening at Leisure.
  • Overnight at Bomdila.

DAY 2 – TAWANG

  • After breakfast drive to Tawang doing on the way sightseeing which covers Se La Pass The Sela Pass more appropriately called Se La, as La means Pass is a high-altitude mountain pass located on the border between the Tawang and West Kameng Districts of Arunachal Pradesh state in India.
  • It has an elevation of 4170 m or13, 700 ft, Jaswant Garh war memorial, Nag Mandir, & Dirang Dzong Approx. 200 km and 6-7 hours drive.
  • Check in at Hotel. Evening at Leisure.
  • Overnight at Tawang.

DAY 3 – TAWANG

  • After breakfast indulge yourselves with the sightseeing of the serene beauty called”TAWANG”. Today you’ll be covering Tawang Monastery, Handicrafts Hand loom Saturday Closed, War Memorial.
  • Evening enjoy light and sound show for the Martyrs Who died in Indo – China war in 1962 in Tawang war memorial.
  • Overnight at Tawang.

DAY 4 – TAWANG

  • Today you’ll be visiting Bumla pass The Indo – China border, Madhuri / Songetsar lake & PTSO Pangateng Tso Lake by an Arunachal registration Car As per the Arunachal government rule, only Arunachal car can go to Madhuri & PTSO lake.
  • Overnight at Tawang.

DAY 5 – BOMDILA

  • After breakfast drive back to Bomdila Approx. 210 km and 5 – 6 hours drive. En route visit Jung waterfall also called as Nuranang falls.
  • Overnight in Bomdila.

DAY 6 – GUWAHATI

  • After breakfast drive to GUWAHATI Approx 345 km and 7- 8 hours drive. En route visit Bomdila Monastery & Bomdila view point.
  • Overnight in Guwahati hotel.

DAY 7 – DEPARTURE

  • Early morning visit Kamakhya devi temple.
  • Later drive back to Guwahati airport for your departure to your hometown.
  • On arrival Chennai airport.

It is renowned for many important and beautiful monasteries and is famous for being the birthplace of the 6th Dalai Lama, Tsangyang Gyatso, at an altitude of about 3048 m.

The beautiful city of Tawang, also known as Dawang, has many landscapes to make your journey a picturesque one. What is beginning to define the area, however, is its importance to Buddhist monks. Tawang is the place to go for monasteries, with the most famous and extremely sacred monastery for the Buddhists being Tawang Monastery. Tawang is a place which, with its natural beauty wrapped in the fragrance of spirituality, will flatter you.

Tawang was historically part of Tibet inhabited by the Monpa people. The Tawang Monastery was founded by the Merak Lama Lodre Gyatso in 1681 in accordance with the wishes of the 5th Dalai Lama, Ngawang Lobsang Gyatso, and has an interesting legend surrounding its name, which means “Chosen by Horse”. The sixth Dalai Lama, Tsangyang Gyatso, was born in Tawang.

In keeping with the wishes of the 5th Dalai Lama, Nagwang Lobsang Gyatso, Tawang Monastery was established by Mera Lama Lodre Gyasto. It belongs to the sect of Gelugpa and is India’s largest Buddhist monastery. Tawang’s name means Horse Chosen. Outside Lhasa, Tibet, it is said to be the largest Buddhist monastery in the world. For Tibetan Buddhists, it is a big holy site as it was the birthplace of the sixth Dalai Lama.
