TRIP OVERVIEW

Ernakulam (colonial name Cochin, Kochi in local language) is a vibrant town located in the breathtakingly scenic and prosperous state of Kerala, hailed as ‘God’s Own Land’ on the south-west coast of the Indian peninsula. The sobriquet Queen of the Arabian Sea underlines its strategic value over the centuries. Informally, the Gateway to Kerala is also referred to as Cochin.

The Arabs, British, Chinese, Dutch, and Portuguese have left indelible marks on Cochin ‘s history and growth since time immemorial. Cochin has emerged over the years as Kerala’s commercial and industrial capital and is perhaps the second most important city on India’s west coast (after Mumbai / Bombay). Cochin is proud of its world-class port and international airport, which connect it to many of the world’s major cities. Dindigul to Kochi on the way to visit alleppey boat house, beaches and churches,etc..,

One of the most beautiful areas of the city is considered to be Marine Drive. It is also called the Path of Shanmugham. As the view of the backwaters and the harbour from here is exceptional, the marine walk is the key meeting place for the local community. The lights of the numerous ships anchored in the harbour at night are just stunning.

There are different buildings along the Marine Drive that are strong examples of modem architecture, with the prominent one being Asoka Apartments with a massive Namaste, the traditional greeting, on the southern end of the Marine Drive.

One of the well-known neighbourhoods in Kochi is Edappally. In English, its name literally translates as ‘The City in the Centre with a Church’ (Eda= centre Malayalam; Palli= Church Malayalam). The famous church in the centre is St. George’s Church, which is a pilgrimage centre and is very ancient. In the city of Kochi, it is said to be one of the fastest growing regions. For more details about Dindigul to Kochi tour package please contact 9443204141,9578784466.
